CAC2 Member Blog–Jointly Sponsored Moonshot4Kids Congressional Briefing

CAC2 Members Jack’s Angels, Dragon Master Foundation, Max Cure Foundation, Children’s Cancer Cause, and National Brain Tumor Society joined together with others in the community through the DIPG Advocacy Group to hold the Moonshot4Kids Congressional Briefing on February 13 to raise awareness of H. Res. 114, which “Expressing support for the designation of the 17th day in May as “DIPG Awareness Day” to raise awareness and encourage research into cures for diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) and pediatric cancers in general.” You can read more about the Briefing and H. CAC2 Webinar–Landmark Lightings and Proclamations

In this All-Member webinar for February 2015, CAC2 welcomed presenters Tony Stoddard (Sophia's Fund) and Neal Rourke (International Individual Member). Tony and Neal presented an interactive webinar to encourage dialogue between our members about Landmark Lightings and Proclamations.  They shared their past successes and techniques to help our members reach awareness goals in their communities. Complete Remission Induced By Dendritic Cell Vaccine For Relapsed Neuroblastoma Patient

This collaborative research effort was due to childhood cancer groups coming together as part of CAC2. One year after his last treatment, a six-year-old boy with recurrent neuroblastoma is in complete remission for his high-risk metastatic cancer. Doctors reported this case study in the January 2013 issue of Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, which was funded in part by a joint grant from the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, Pierce Phillips Charity and Solving Kids' Cancer.
