Excited to Announce: I’ve Joined the CAC2 Innovation Council!

By CAC2 Member Annette Logan-Parker, Visionary Founder at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation

I am thrilled to share that I have joined the CAC2 Innovation Council, a new volunteer opportunity. The Coalition Against Childhood Cancer (CAC2) is a collaborative network of nonprofits, corporations, and individuals from 41 states and nine countries supporting and serving the childhood cancer community. CAC2 members effectively advance various childhood cancer causes by unifying their efforts. As a member of this council, I have the privilege of contributing to a collective effort to evaluate and prioritize opportunities that benefit the CAC2 members. This role involves engaging with a variety of requests and initiatives, providing valuable feedback, and helping shape the future direction of our organization.

Why This Role Matters:
Participating in the CAC2 Innovation Council allows me to directly impact the efforts of those in the childhood cancer community on a larger scale. By evaluating and supporting valuable initiatives, I help ensure our members receive the best resources and opportunities. This role not only enhances my professional skills but also provides a deep sense of fulfillment through meaningful volunteer work.

Responsibilities:

Opportunity Evaluation – Review new opportunities and initiatives the CAC2 Leadership team presents.

Providing Feedback – Share my insights and opinions on each opportunity that CAC2 considers.

CAC2 Engagement Areas – The Coalition Against Childhood Cancer (CAC2) concentrates on several critical engagement areas to aid and enhance the lives of children impacted by cancer, along with their families and the wider community. These areas encompass Advocacy, Awareness, Research & Treatment, Family Support, and Survivorship.

  • Advocacy: Shape public policy and secure funding to enhance support for childhood cancer programs.
  • Awareness: Increase public awareness and understanding of childhood cancer.
  • Research & Treatment: Promote and fund research efforts and new treatment methodologies.
  • Family Support: Provide extensive assistance to families dealing with childhood cancer.
  • Survivorship: Focus on the long-term care and needs of childhood cancer survivors.

These engagement areas reflect CAC2’s commitment to a comprehensive approach to combating childhood cancer, ensuring that every aspect of the journey—from diagnosis to survivorship—is supported with dedication and care.

I am excited to work alongside other dedicated members as we collaborate to make a difference. Our collective input and dedication can guide our community towards the most promising opportunities.
