Many people have pain during cancer treatment…And for most people, the pain stops after treatment ends. But for some people the pain persists. For cancer survivors, long-term pain may occur for a number of reasons including damage to the bones, joints, or nerves from treatment with radiation, surgery, certain chemotherapy drugs, or corticosteroids.
